The hunt for Trig Points continues at a place well known to us…Penshaw!
We must have climbed this hill up to the Earl of Durham Monument a thousand times, so a map wasn’t necessary for this TP. We decided to incorporate the ‘bagging’ of this one in with a walk down the River Wear, about 6 miles.
We parked at the free carpark at the bottom of the hill, just off the roundabout on the A183. Walk up the hill towards the monument and the TP is to the left.
The view is something else and we’ll worth a visit.
I will post the whole walk another time as I’ve just looked back and I can’t believe I haven’t blogged it already!!??
